Dr. Ransdell & His Wife Beth

About UsMeet Dr Randy,
Dr. Ransdell’s excitement about dentistry began while in college working with dental teams on mission trips in Mexico & Peru. Those experiences led him to follow his step-father and mentor, Dr. Tom Guenther, into dental practice. After attending Saint Xavier High School in Louisville, Dr. Ransdell graduated with honors from Depauw University in 1984 and the University of Louisville Dental School in 1988. He completed a hospital residency at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center where he gained additional experience in IV Sedation, “smile makeovers”, & dental reconstruction. Appreciating his 26+ years of dental experience, Dr. Ransdell enjoys serving patients in both Jefferson and Spencer Counties. He has served as President of the KY Academy of General Dentistry and the Louisville Dental Society and holds offices in the Kentucky Dental Association. In 2015 he was awarded a Mastership in The Academy of General Dentistry ( one of only 8 practicing in Kentucky) and was honored with induction into the American College of Dentists. He has lectured locally and has published nationally. The Office participates with numerous charitable organizations. Dr Ransdell founded the LDS/METRO FREE mobile dental clinic in Louisville & Surrounding areas. The office participates in Smile Kentucky clinics and screenings, RAM FREE Clinics, and The Donated Dental Services program. The Office Has an annual CANDY-BUY-BACK event & sends Candy, Supplies & Donations to our Armed Forces. Dr. Ransdell’s favorite part of being a dentist is the joy expressed by patients after smile makeovers and the Smiles & Hugs of patients who formerly avoided dentists because of fear. Dr. Ransdell and his wife, Beth, have two sons, and one dog. Outside the office, he pursues various interests, including stream fishing, hiking, reading, charitable dentistry, wine-making, welding, and construction. "I am a Fortunate and Blessed Man". JRR |

Our History |
My College Mission trip to Mexico and Peru ignited my interest in dentistry. My Step-father Dr Carl Guenther was a great role-model & mentor. I purchased his practice on Taylor Blvd in August 1989. His last day was on a Friday & I started on Monday. Mrs. Bettye Langley helped me through my first years and the practice has grown and fluxed throughout the years. I have been fortunate to work with 2 great associates who continued on to begin their own practices. We opened the ElkCreek office in the summer of 1999 and have continued to serve both communities, since then. We are grateful for the 1000's of patients who continue to trust their Smiles to our care.
